These Terms and Conditions govern the use of tutoring services provided by Bonjour Tutors (“Bonjour Tutors,” “we,” “our,” or “us”). By enrolling a student and purchasing tutoring services, you (“the parent,” “guardian,” or “client”) agree to the terms outlined below.

1. Scope of Services

Bonjour Tutors provides private, one-on-one online French tutoring for school-aged students from Junior Kindergarten (JK) to Grade 12.

Services are delivered online only.

We do not offer in-person tutoring, group classes, or tutoring for adults.

2. Enrollment and First Lesson

All students begin with a first lesson that includes a structured assessment.

The first lesson is a paid session and is billed at the standard lesson rate.

There are no free trials.

3. Scheduling and Lesson Structure

Lessons are scheduled on a recurring weekly basis, with a minimum commitment of one lesson per week, unless otherwise agreed.

Bonjour Tutors reserves the agreed weekly time slot for the student and maintains a consistent tutoring schedule.

Lessons are typically delivered by the same tutor. However, if the assigned tutor is unable to accommodate the agreed schedule, Bonjour Tutors may reassign the student to another qualified tutor to maintain schedule continuity.

If a parent requests a schedule change that the current tutor cannot accommodate, the student may be reassigned to another tutor.

All scheduled lessons remain subject to the attendance and cancellation policies outlined below.

4. Attendance, Cancellations, and Missed Lessons

Tutoring services operate on the basis of a reserved weekly session slot, which is scheduled and held for the student.

4.1 Weekly Session Commitment

By enrolling, parents agree to maintain a recurring weekly tutoring schedule.

Lessons are automatically scheduled and billed weekly unless they are cancelled, paused, or discontinued in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

The weekly commitment does not prevent parents from cancelling individual lessons without charge, provided the required notice is given.

4.2 How to Cancel a Lesson

Parents may cancel a scheduled lesson using any of the following methods:

Cancellation notice is determined by the time the cancellation is submitted through TutorBird or received by email.

Parents are encouraged to cancel lessons as early as possible to allow tutors to manage their schedules.

4.3 Cancellations With at Least 24 Hours’ Notice

Parents may cancel a scheduled lesson without charge by providing notice at least 24 hours before the scheduled start time.

When a lesson is cancelled with at least 24 hours’ notice:

Parents are not required to schedule a make-up lesson for a session cancelled with sufficient notice.

Cancelling an individual lesson does not automatically pause or discontinue the student’s recurring weekly tutoring schedule.

4.4 Cancellations With Less Than 24 Hours’ Notice

If a parent or student cancels a scheduled lesson less than 24 hours before its scheduled start time:

Make-up credits cannot be applied toward or used to replace regularly scheduled weekly lessons while the student remains actively enrolled.

4.5 Missed Lessons (No-Shows)

A no-show occurs when a student fails to attend a scheduled lesson and neither the parent nor the student has provided cancellation notice before the lesson begins.

In these circumstances:

Parents are responsible for ensuring that students attend their scheduled lessons or provide cancellation notice in advance.

4.6 Tutor Cancellations

If a lesson is cancelled by Bonjour Tutors or the assigned tutor:

Tutor cancellations do not affect the student’s regular weekly schedule unless a scheduling change is agreed upon.

If a lesson has already been charged before a tutor cancellation is processed, the corresponding charge will be reversed or refunded.

5. Make-Up Credits

Make-up credits are issued when a parent or student cancels a regular weekly lesson with less than 24 hours’ notice.

Credits issued as a result of eligible cancellations:

Make-up sessions are subject to tutor availability and are not guaranteed. Regular weekly sessions always take priority over make-up sessions.

Unused make-up credits may remain on the student’s account but do not entitle the parent to guaranteed scheduling, priority booking, or specific time slots.

Credits must be used while the student remains actively enrolled, except as provided in Section 5.2.

5.1 Cancellation of Make-Up Sessions

Make-up sessions are scheduled using a previously issued credit.

If a make-up session is cancelled or missed by the student or parent, the credit associated with that session is considered used and will not be reissued, regardless of the amount of cancellation notice provided.

An exception will be made if the cancellation is due to circumstances on the tutor’s side, including tutor absence or verified technical issues affecting the tutor’s ability to conduct the lesson. In these circumstances, the make-up credit will be restored.

5.2 Use of Credits Prior to Service Cancellation

Make-up credits are intended to allow students to recover lessons cancelled with less than 24 hours’ notice.

Credits cannot be used to replace the student’s regular weekly session while tutoring services remain active.

If a parent intends to discontinue tutoring services and has remaining make-up credits, they may arrange to use those credits for final sessions before submitting their service cancellation request.

Final sessions scheduled using make-up credits are subject to tutor availability.

Once the service cancellation becomes effective, any remaining unused make-up credits are forfeited, subject to applicable law, and cannot be refunded, transferred, or redeemed for cash.

6. Pausing Tutoring Services

Parents may request a temporary pause of tutoring services for up to 30 days.

Pause requests must be submitted by email to parents.support@bonjourtutors.com.

A pause becomes effective when Bonjour Tutors receives the parent’s email request.

During an approved pause:

If a pause request is received less than 24 hours before an upcoming lesson, that lesson remains subject to the late-cancellation policy, including the applicable charge and make-up credit.

Tutoring services automatically resume at the end of the approved pause period unless another arrangement has been agreed upon.

Pauses exceeding 30 days may result in reassignment to another tutor or changes to the student’s regular schedule.

Parents who do not intend to resume tutoring should request cancellation of services rather than a temporary pause.

7. Fees, Billing, and Payments

Tutoring services are provided on a weekly, auto-renewing basis, with lessons scheduled each week unless cancelled, paused, or discontinued in accordance with these Terms and Conditions.

Lessons are billed at the published rate at the time of enrollment and are charged weekly to the payment method on file.

By enrolling in tutoring services and agreeing to these Terms and Conditions, the parent authorizes Bonjour Tutors to process recurring payments for scheduled lessons, subject to the cancellation policies outlined in Section 4.

The following billing rules apply:

Parents are responsible for:

Failure to maintain a valid payment method may result in suspension of services until outstanding balances are settled.

8. Packages and Discounts

If a parent purchases a discounted lesson package:

Discounted packages are final once purchased, subject to applicable consumer protection laws.

9. Cancellation of Services

Parents may discontinue tutoring services at any time by sending an email to parents.support@bonjourtutors.com.

Service cancellation becomes effective immediately upon receipt of the parent’s email.

There is no additional notice period required to discontinue services.

The following conditions apply:

Parents who wish to use any remaining make-up credits should arrange their final make-up sessions before submitting their service cancellation request.

Any unused make-up credits remaining after the account is closed are forfeited, subject to applicable law, and cannot be refunded, transferred, or redeemed for cash.

10. No Guarantee of Results

Bonjour Tutors does not guarantee specific academic outcomes, grades, or performance improvements.

Student progress depends on multiple factors, including attendance, engagement, school curriculum, individual learning differences, and the student’s participation in lessons.

11. Parent and Student Responsibilities

Parents and students are responsible for:

Failure to meet these responsibilities may affect service delivery.

12. Termination of Services

Bonjour Tutors reserves the right to suspend or terminate services in cases of:

Any outstanding charges for services already provided or properly charged under these Terms and Conditions remain payable, subject to applicable law.

13. Changes to Terms

Bonjour Tutors may update these Terms and Conditions from time to time.

Updated terms will be published on our website. Where required by applicable law, parents will receive notice of material changes and any required opportunity to accept or reject those changes.

Continued use of services following a valid update constitutes acceptance only to the extent permitted by applicable law.

14. Governing Law

These Terms and Conditions are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, subject to any mandatory consumer protection laws that may apply.
